Plain Rice


  • 2 glasses of Mahmood Basmati Rice
  • 4 Spoons of butter
  • 3 glasses of water (you may also use chicken or beef stock cubes)
  • Salt


Clean Mahmood Basmati Rice and rinse it with warm water Heat the half of the oil for the rice in a saucepan. Rinse already wet Mahmood Basmati Rice twice with your fingertips without breaking the rice grains and sieve it. Pour the rinsed Mahmood Basmati Rice into the saucepan and fry them for ten minutes with the help of wooden spoon. Pour three glasses of water and (if any) meat stock cube and add salt. Stir lightly without breaking the rice grains and close the lid. Lower the heat once starts to boil. Once cooked, take it away from the cooker and rest. Fry the rest of the oil and pour onto the rice. Keep the lid closed for some more time. Stir gently without breaking the rice grains and let it rest again. Stir again and serve.
